I do triathlons for fun. Is there anyway I can start a business or LLC where I can deduct the expenses?

Unless you have a reasonable expectation of making money from a business and are trying to, you can't deduct the expenses. If it's a hobby, you can deduct the expenses up to the amount of your income, but that's all.
